Easter celebration
Our friends from abroad had a chance to taste dishes popular with Poles in Easter time, as well as learn more about our traditions connected with that season.
The dishes deemed most tasteful by our guests from Nigeria and India were the babka cake and eggs in mayonnaise, although they also praised żurek (sour rye soup) and cheesecake.
Such events offer a chance to learn about new culture and tradition. The fact that Easter is celebrated in every country and on each continent is indisputable, there are, however, some differences in the celebrations themselves. For example, in Nigeria Easter is celebrated very joyously – people come out on the streets to rejoice together in the festivities.
And in India there is the three-day Goa carnival, whose greatest attraction are red and black dancers. People dance, sing, eat and drink in the streets. Each year, the carnival attracts many tourists not only from India, but also from abroad.
