We would like to invite you to the next edition of the International Football Tournament, which takes place on May 12 at 9 a.m. in the sports hall in Kielnarowa.

Arabic Month - Summary
Within the month, the following events took place:
- open lectures – e.g. “How to Travel in Arabic Countries” or “The Phenomenon of the Al Jazeera Television”, held by Zofia Sawicka, an employee of the Institute of Research on Civilisations.
- meetings with our guests – during a lecture on “The Palestinian-Israeli Conflict”, our guest, dr Yousuf Shahada, outlined briefly the issues of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict from the point of view of a Palestinian. In the scientific seminar on “Islamic Terrorism”, brigade general Tomasz Bąk presented to the audience the threats resulting from today’s terrorism, while he also shared his experience gained in many peace missions, including those in the Balkans or in Iraq.
- the Marhaba – a meeting addressed mainly to secondary school pupils and others, who could learn the basic information about the Arabic world in a light and pleasant form. Apart from that, participants had the occasion to admire a show of traditional Arabic belly-dancing performed by a professional dancer, learn how to write some Arabic, or taste sweet delicacies from the Middle East.
The events have again attracted crowds of students and other guests thirsty for knowledge about foreign travels, intriguing civilisations, or different lifestyles. The many discussions arisen from exchanging views, particularly as to the conflict in Israel, are a proof that such issues should be discussed much more often and from many different perspectives. Generally, nearly 600 people took part in the “Arabic Month” events, which is a decisive proof for great interest in the presented issues.
We would like to thank everyone who took part in the “Arabic Month” and invite you to future events organised by the Institute of Research on Civilisations.
